South Wilts Ski Ltd (Registered in England and Wales Company Number 14909874), trading as South Wilts Ski Club, (also referred to in these Terms and Conditions as the “the Ski Club” or “we”) will endeavour to provide a service to you with reasonable care and skill. Your safety and enjoyment are our prime concern. We want to ensure that you achieve your objectives and have as much fun as possible in a safe environment.
During the booking process you will have been asked to accept these Terms and Conditions. In addition, before participating in a Session, all Participants (or, if they are children, a parent, legal guardian or authorised person on the child’s behalf) must sign our Participation Form, which is intended to make you aware of the risks inherent in using the Slope and in snow sports and help us reduce them.

2. ADULT SUPERVISION AND SAFEGUARDING
There may only be one member of staff at the Ski Hall at any time. The Instructor’s focus must be on Participants on the Slope at all times and so the Customer or another adult within the Party is responsible for any children who are not on the Slope.
If a child is using the Slope alone with the Instructor, the Customer or an adult member of the Party must watch the Session at all times, either from the Viewing Area or on the TV monitor in the Clubhouse.
Our Instructors will not be responsible for children who are not using the Slope during a Session.
Children are not permitted to give or request an Instructor’s contact details by any means including social media, phone or email and Instructors are not permitted to share their contact details with Participants who are children.
3. CCTV
All Sessions at the Ski Club will be video recorded for the purposes of safety and instruction. The Instructor will use this footage to create short clips from each Session to measure progress. They will not normally be shared with anyone else. Further information about how we process images and other personal data is provided in our Privacy Notice.
The exterior of the building and car park is also filmed for security purposes.
4. CLUB SAFETY RULES
Outside the building
The Ski Club is located in a working farmyard with livestock and heavy machinery. The Ski Club has its own fenced off area which contains the car park and the outdoor terrace to the Clubhouse. It is important that you and your Party park only in the Ski Club car park and do not leave the fenced in area of the Ski Club except by vehicle when leaving the premises.
Inside the building
Nobody is allowed on the Slope unsupervised by the Instructor.
While not on the Slope, Customers and Participants are allowed to sit in the Viewing Area or in the Clubhouse. You must not go on the Slope unless asked to by the Instructor and under no circumstances should you touch the Slope surface when not using the Slope.
You must follow the instructions given by the Instructor on and off the Slope at all times.
Clothing
The Slope has two large rollers at each end. Participants must not wear any clothing or jewellery with long trailing elements that might get caught in the rollers and long hair must be tied up to avoid the highly unlikely chance of entanglement in the machinery in the event of a fall.
The hall containing the Slope is air conditioned and the temperature will not rise above 18°C in the summer or fall below 10°C in the winter. You don’t need to wear full winter skiing kit.
You must wear socks, ideally up to your knees. We recommend wearing comfortable flexible clothing that covers your arms and legs. Bear in mind that the surface of the Slope is slightly wet, and your clothes may get damp.
When using the Slope, everyone must wear a helmet.
5. BEHAVIOUR
We operate in a small quiet hamlet. There is an outside seating area, but music must not be played outside, and we ask that you respect our neighbours’ right to peace and quiet. Keep any loud and raucous conversation inside the Clubhouse.
We will not accept anti-social behaviour in the Ski Club. If any Customer, Participant or spectator is abusive to any other Customer, Participant, spectator or member of our staff, we reserve the right to remove the offending person from our premises without any refund. We also reserve the right to refuse access to the Slope if we have reasonable grounds to believe that any person is under the influence of alcohol or any banned substance and to cancel the Session without refund.
While in the Ski Club, Customers, Participants and spectators must follow the Club Safety Rules set out in section 4 above and any instructions given by the Instructor. Failure to do so may result in the Customer, Participant or spectator being asked to leave the Slope and in which case no refund shall be made.
You may bring spectators who are not Participants, but the number of spectators should not be greater than the number of Participants (except in the case of close family members).
6. CATERING
Because the Slope only caters for exclusive use of small Parties, we do not offer a café, however we do provide tea, coffee, filtered water and other refreshments in the Clubhouse and these are included in the price of your Session (subject to reasonable use, at the absolute discretion of the Club Manager). If you want to bring your own food, we are happy to provide crockery and cutlery as long as you put them in the dishwasher afterwards. There is a fridge that you may use to keep food cool, a microwave and a boiling water tap.
7. FITNESS TO SKI
It is the responsibility of the Participant to confirm that he/she is fit and able to ski. The Participant must disclose to the Instructor any disability or special needs that may affect their own safety or the safety of others when using the Slope. If you have an existing medical condition which you think may affect your safety while using the Slope, please seek proper medical advice before your visit.
Where the Participant is a child, the above confirmation/disclosure must be given by the child’s parent, legal guardian or an authorised person.
If you have a temperature or any other signs of contagious illness, please do not attend your Session.
8. EQUIPMENT HIRE
The price of the Session includes the cost of hiring skis, ski boots, poles and helmet / snowboard boots and snowboards. You are welcome to bring your own ski or snowboarding boots, but no discount is given for this. Do not bring your own skis. Our skis have been specially prepared to suit the Slope surface.
We stock boots from size 14.5 (UK Child Size 8) to size 32.5 Mondo (roughly UK Adult size 13). Mondo is simply the length of the foot in centimetres and is the international measurement for ski boots.
9. BOOKING
All Sessions must be booked and paid for in advance on our website www.southwiltsski.com. We do not accept telephone bookings. A Session cannot be booked without accepting these Terms and Conditions.
The Customer will be responsible for ensuring that all Participants and others in the Party adhere to the Terms and Conditions and the Club Safety Rules set out in section 4 above.
No Participant will be allowed to use the Slope without prior completion and signature of a Participation Form. Using the Slope does carry the risk of injury. Participants under the age of 18 must have a Participation Form completed and signed on their behalf by a parent/guardian or a person authorised by them.
10. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Cancellation or amendment initiated by the Customer:
If a Customer or Participant fails to attend a Session without giving at least 48 hours’ prior notice, we will not give a refund or provide a free replacement Session, except in the case of injury or sickness, following provision of a doctor’s note confirming that the Customer or Participant was too injured or ill to attend.
If a Session is cancelled on at least 48 hours’ prior notice, we will give either a refund or reschedule a free replacement Session at another time suitable for the Customer but within any restrictions placed on the initial Session due to special offers. If the Session was part of a Member’s subscription, then the free replacement Session must be within the period of the subscription.
For Sessions with more than four Participants, a minimum of one week’s notice is required to cancel or reschedule a Session. If inadequate notice is given, no refund will be made and there will be no right to a free replacement Session.
Cancellation or amendment by South Wilts Ski Club:
We reserve the right to cancel or change a Session due to circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a cancellation of the Session, we will credit the cost of the Session to the Customer’s Ski Club account with a 1-year expiry date from date of cancellation.
We will not, however, accept responsibility for any costs that may arise as a result of the situation being beyond our reasonable control.
11. SESSION PACKAGES
Customers can buy a Session Package entitling them to multiple Sessions at a discounted price.
All Sessions bought as part of a Session Package must be booked and used within 12 months of the purchase date. No refunds will be given for unused Sessions.
The Customer may invite Participants who are not Members to join a Session they have booked but the Customer must be present at every Session booked by them.
Other offers or discounts cannot be applied to Session Packages.
12. MEMBERSHIP
The aim of the Ski Club is to foster a community of skiers within the local area. The club plans to organise social events and competitions for Members.
Any Customer who buys a Session other than an Introductory Session, and any member of that Customer’s family, will automatically become a Member of the Ski Club.
Membership shall expire 12 months after the last booking by a Customer who is a Member.
Membership may be revoked by the Ski Club at any time in the event of a breach of these Terms and Conditions.
13. HOW A SESSION IS CONDUCTED
Only two Participants are permitted to be on the Slope at any one time, except in exceptional circumstances to be determined in the discretion of the Instructor.
At the start of a Session, the Instructor will make sure that they understand what each Participant’s objectives are for the Session.
At the end of a Session, the Instructor should summarise the progress made by each Participant. The Instructor will also advise what additional steps could be taken by each Participant to achieve their objectives.
Using an infinity slope is very physically demanding so the Session will contain breaks when the Instructor can discuss technique and give advice. If there is more than one Participant, then the Session will normally be broken into alternate slots.
14. LATE ARRIVALS
Please leave plenty of time for your journey to the Ski Club. We strongly recommend aiming to arrive at the Ski Club at least 15 minutes prior to your Session start time.
If you are late for your Session start time, this may impact your Session duration and in particular the amount of Slope time available to you.
We reserve the right to refuse admission to a Session if you arrive with less than 15 minutes of a Session remaining. Please note that in this event no refunds or free transfers will be allowed.
Please check all traffic reports before your journey to the Ski Club as we cannot be held responsible for late arrivals due to traffic conditions.
15. LOST PROPERTY
For lost property enquiries please contact office@southwiltsski.com. If your item is found, it will be held for a maximum period of 14 days. After this time, if the item remains unclaimed, it will be donated to charity. South Wilts Ski Club accepts no responsibility for returning items to you, or for any items of lost property that remain unclaimed within this timeframe.
