Think skiing is just for winter? Think again.
South Wilts Ski Club (SWSC), based at Bapton Manor near Warminster, is heating things up this summer, offering year-round ski training for all ages, all abilities, and all-weather forecasts.
With an alpine-styled clubhouse offering complimentary beverages on site and two state-of-the-art training systems, SWSC brings the mountain to you.
Since its launch last October, SWSC has taken the county (and surrounding areas) by storm. It was the first to bring Infinity Slope skiing and snowboarding to Wiltshire and remains one of only four facilities in the UK to offer this high-tech indoor experience. This summer SWSC is announcing that it will be open for business: get ahead of the queues and ahead of your game by honing yours and your family’s slope skills over the summer. Need an activity you can do as a family? Look no further.
Big Demand, Bigger Vision
Winter demand was so high that founder Nick Jenkins had to expand the team from one instructor to five. The Club also invested in new technology enabling it to accommodate more users at any one time. “We launched just before October half term and instantly booked up. People were reserving sessions three weeks in advance. I knew that there would be demand but I hadn’t imagined that it would be so instant and so intense. It was really great to see”, says Jenkins.
Two Epic Ways to Train
For those that aren’t familiar with an Infinity Slope it works like a revolving, carpeted slope that mimics a real ski run. It can accommodate two students at any one time, be adjusted for speed and incline. Each session comes with a one-to-one instructor and a large mirror at the foot of the slope so you can correct your stance in real time. It’s perfect for all abilities, whether you’re a skiing or snowboarding pro or a beginner looking to build confidence. Not a skier? Not a problem. This is the perfect solution for families wanting to test the water or to reduce the amount of time spent in ski school on holiday.
The club’s latest addition, the SkyTech Ski Simulator, offers a completely new way to train. You clip into fixed bindings on rails in front of a virtual reality screen and ski through customisable slalom courses or snow-covered trails, with options to adjust snow type and grip. It’s perfect for refining technique and boosting performance, and it’s a favourite among elite athletes – including the U.S. Ski Team. There’s even a national leaderboard, with SWSC instructor Craig currently topping the UK charts. South Wilts Ski Club is the only facility in the UK to offer both simulators under one roof.
“It’s brilliant for any level of skier and anyone looking ot sharpen their turns”, says instructor Craig. “We’ve seen big improvements in just a few short sessions.”
Train Together, Improve Together
With both systems now in place, families can train side by side in a controlled, safe, and weatherproof environment. Whether it’s a competitive race on the simulator or skills coaching on the Infinity Slope, there’s something for everyone.
What I really want to create is a place where people can come and really fine tune their skiing. It's continuous so you can really practice those turns. The snow is exactly the same. There's no ice, there are no rocks, and there are no other people. It's the perfect place to sharpen your snow skills.

Real Stories, Real Progress
South Wilts Ski Club customer, Rachael Franklin told us “When we got to the resort, after the first day’s assessment, Reuben was put straight into a middle ability group, starting on some green and blue runs. By the end of the week, he was on red runs and starting to parallel ski. He stacked it a few times, but thanks to the fall training he’d been given he kept his cool and was all good! The tuition the team at South Wilts Ski Club gave was invaluable in him having a fantastic time”.
